Sample Card - Alpha MG Team with No Special Abilities

SETUP:
Put the 12 objective cards at the top of your play area with the objective side up and in order (1,2,3) for each company. Shuffle the remaining cards and deal yourself a hand of 5 cards, setting aside all enemy fire cards that you draw at this time, and then reshuffle the deck with those cards included. Your hand is considered your “staging area,” representing military units with which you are in communication and ready to deploy.

HOW TO PLAY:
On your turn, you may (1) play a Battalion card to attack, (2) discard a Battalion card and use its special ability, or (3) discard your whole hand.
At the end of your turn, after you have resolved any effects of the cards you used (some of which trigger special effects), you fill up your hand. If you discarded your whole hand, draw 5 new cards under the same conditions that you started the game with; that is, put aside enemy fire that you draw and shuffle them back into the deck when you are done filling your hand.

Sample Card - Charlie Company Recon Card allowing you to look ahead 5 cards and reorder them to your benefit.

Delta Company Command gives you any of the abilities of any other Delta Company card.

Under most circumstances, you will play or use a single card. In those cases, you draw one card at a time to fill your hand, and resolve enemy fire cards as they appear (do not set them aside or wait until you have filled your hand to resolve them).
Important:  If you ever need to fill your hand to 5 cards and you cannot do so because there are not sufficient cards in the deck, you lose:  the enemy has held off your attack long enough for reinforcements to come up.

ATTACKING WITH BATTALION CARDS:
To attack, play one Battalion card from your hand to the play area in front of you, placing it next to the last Battalion card played prior to it. The general rule is that you may never play two cards of the same type in a row; thus, 2 infantry, 2 machine guns, etc.
In order for you to take an objective, you must attack with (play) three cards of the same color in a row. Two of them may have the same symbol if they are the first and third cards of the sequence. (However, note that the last card of the sequence will restrict the options for the first card of the next sequence, regardless of color.) You earn one victory point (VP) for each objective taken. When an objective is taken, clear the cards from the play area and place face up in the discard pile.
Note that recon units do not count toward the three required cards. You may play a recon unit as part of an attack, but the attack does not succeed until you have three non-recon units in a single color sequence. Once you play the third card of a color in a row (with no intervening cards), flip an objective card of that color to show its victory medal. (If you have already achieved all objectives for that color, skip this step.)
